2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. 3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayst be feared.5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they watch for the morning.Psalm 130:2-6 This is one of the most important Psalms of the Bible. It teaches how to approach God when burden with sin. It is in the depths of sin, where peace cannot be found, nor joy, a continuing separation from the Lord is all that can be expected. So we must cry out to Christ, who made the ears, and He will be aware of the voice asking for help. For if God should hold us to our sins and iniquities how could we ever stand before Him. There is no hope. But there is forgiveness through Christ, He has paid the debt, and He will turn none away, for this He is worthy of our praise and reverence. So the author says he waits for Christ, his soul waits for Christ, and his hope is in Christ's promise. We like the author must wait on Christ, more than those that watch for the sunrise, for whatever purpose awaits them. For Christ shall come from the rising of the sun, the Light of the World, with His pardoning grace, with healing in His wings, His salvation and deliverance breaks forth as the morning, but oh how much more desirable is Christ. His value is worth more than 10,000 sunrises. Amen.
