38. And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.39. And when he was come in, he saith unto them, why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.40. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.41. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.Mark 5:38-42 Jesus has come to the rulers house where some have come and said not to trouble Jesus, your daughter is dead. Jesus asked why all the crying and such, she is not dead but sleeping. And they ridicule Jesus knowing that she was dead. Jesus removes them from His presence and surrounded by those that believe in Him, He takes her hand and says girl arise. And as soon as the words were spoken she stands up and walks. Christ's power and authority over life and death is proven. For death could not retain its hold having to submit to Christ's rule. And so shall it be for us, the faithful will hear, well done come in and enter into your eternal rest, there shall be no sickness, no pain, no thought of death, for we shall for ever be with the Lord, the road is not easy, but the reward is great. When the people saw the damsel they were astonished, meaning bewildered, their mind could not grasp the power in Jesus and though the saw with their eyes they still could not believe that by a word Christ was able to restore life to her. Amen.
