1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I try trust. 3. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.4. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.5. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;Psalm 91:1-5 The psalmist speaking from experience reveals this truth. All who by faith choose God as their guardian shall find in Him all their needs and desires. The true beliver is at home with God and loves to be alone to communicate and worship God, they are sheltered by God, and He steps between anything that would come against them. God is always their place of saftey and in times of battle a fortress that can stand any assault. God can be trusted, He is perfect. God is a protector like no other, in life there are hidden snares that catch those unaware, and pestilence that overtake the unprotected. In the spiritual life, Satan is the snare, with temptation, and the noisome pestilence, is the contamination of sin. Our Lord has defeated both, and is a sure protector of believers. Such protection we are in great need of, a shield and buckler are for close combat, and Christ sticks closer than a brother. There is no need to be afraid, many terrors are concealed by darkness, and in daylight we are exposed. Yet, to our God night and day are the same, He created light, and darkness can hide nothing from Him. As you read this you must feel an overwhelming love for every believer of Christ the Son. And those who are under the shadow will not give up this safe and comfortable position. For we are guaranteed peace in Christ, John 14:27. And in the arms of our Savior, there is no safer place in all creation. Amen.
