The Gulf Stream could collapse as early as 2025, plunging Europe into deep frost
Scientists at Utrecht University in the Netherlands are warning that an abrupt halt to Atlantic Ocean currents looks more likely than ever as computer modeling finds a "cliff-like" tipping point looming in the near future.
It is noted that the main contribution to the rapid stop of the Gulf Stream is made by the melting glaciers of Greenland, and the stop of the warm current itself may occur as early as 2025.
