I cannot take your pain away from you for it is your pain, but l can sit with you, l cannot dry the tears from your eyes for crying is healing, but l can sit with you and be here for you. I cannot pick you up when you fall, but l can sit with you and help you to find your strength again for you to get up on your own feet once more. I am not a healer or worker of magic all l can do is be here for you, to comfort you and to tell you that you are not alone. If l was a worker of magic l would wave your pain away, but you pain is what will help you to grow, so l will sit with you to hold that space for you so that you might heal yourself. I will listen to you as you tell me your story over and over again, l will be patient with you until your story is done. I have learned that over the years listening to another and holding that space for them in the most vulnerable moments of their life is where the true healing comes through compassion and sometimes silence, just to sit with another in their darkest hour is where the light shines brightest in you to pass it on so that person finds the courage to see their own light again...
