Svenja Leonhard (Cloud Appreciation Society Member 62,683) was skiing in the sunshine in the Alps above Disentis, Switzerland when the slopes became enveloped by huge Cumulus clouds. ‘We saw the clouds coming, and then, a few seconds later, we were in the middle of them,’ Svenja told us. When you watch them drift lazily across the sky up above, Cumulus seem to change shape gradually. Viewing them up close like this, however, you see that their forms change by the second, particularly when air currents are brisk. ‘I appreciated the windy clouds that passed over us,’ remembered Svenja, ‘just as I loved the cloud carpets that covered the valleys below.’
