Susanna Rita Gilbert (Member 48,913) saw an Altocumulus radiatus sunrise over the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico, US. This reserve is a popular place for birdwatchers to spot sandhill cranes. These birds can have migration flyways spanning thousands of miles. From our perspective on the ground, these parallel lines of Altocumulus clouds appear to converge on the horizon, as if they’re hinting at the epic journeys the migratory birds will travel for food and warmth.
