In the words of Hank Hill “Propane”.
Rather than deal with all the 'convenience of unleaded gasoline': (storage in minimal structural containers, adding a “Sta-ble” fuel extender, trying to find a full (or empty) can to use with it, cleaning out the carburetor after storage for even months to ensure clean start up when required, etc.), I am going to promote Propane/Methane for all the intermittent use activity in the home/cabin get away in both power supply from the generator and the heat needed for initial cleaning and heat on any start up.
The only thing that may get complicated in this is the conversion ports from said Propane to Methane (city line supply pressure /material to “canned”), but that is about it. The propane cans will leak over time (2 years?) but gasoline will turn in about 6 months, and only be good for lighting trash fires (poorly / see internet clips). The Propane cans are much safer for storage and intermittent use/handling as well.
Blatant sales plug: There is a company on the east coast (and others I am sure) that sells conversion components to turn any(?) small gasoline generator (sold at whatever “Harbor Freight”in your area) into a Propane fueled device, with no fuel maintenance over storage, cleaning and prep for the carb and equipment.
Propane can also be easily adapted to fireplace starter, BBQ equipment, and plant reduction for forest fire control buffer (I'm sure there are may other uses). I posted a repeat of the 75 MPG(?), propane powered steam conversion, electric drive, auto and the high CO2 grow and pest reduction greenhouse on wimkin, but like the other sources of the compression engine conversion carb, I am sure there are may other applications.
Or, just run a ABS tube from the exhaust up your garden roots.
I wonder if 3-D printers can make very small ceramic turbines for affordable small aircraft reaction engines?
