EVs are heavy. And, if you want that 3.2 second 0-60 thrill, you need "sticky" tires. They typically last 25k to 50k miles, a far cry from the 75k mile Michelins I put on my boring Lexus ES 350. And, they tend to cost $1100 a pair, or so.
