🚨Maui Money Watch:
Almost a billion dollars have been donationed across the board. However, where is it?
⚠️6 months after the fire, we still have over 8000 fire victims, whether they're in the hotels or not, living scattered across our nation.
⚠️We've had 800 plus businesses close down since the last report in November of last year. Walmart was the only one who gave out anything to the businesses, and that totaled out to $1000 each business affected.
⚠️There was no mortgage or utilities assistance. Only an eviction moratorium to keep those who were displaced secured with housing, but no financial assistance funding was granted
⚠️ Many were asked to go to the SBA to get loans instead of government assistance being given to them.
⚠️ Thousands have had no choice but to move away due to no assistance at all
So where on Earth did a billion dollars go towards? 👇
-Resorts
-Red Cross
-Hawaii Community Foundation (Vanguard)
Who were the entities that transferred donations to other entities?
-HCF Vanguard
-Red Cross
If the Red Cross provided their assistance solely for resort charges, where did HCF place theirs in?
⚠️HCF has not distributed all of their donations received. In fact, they're holding on to over half for a rainy day in the future. The funds they have distributed have gone to the...
⚠️Humane Society, which offers once a week vet services to survivors and hordes the pet food donations coming in, not allowing anyone affected to receive it, unless they sign up with their membership plans.
⚠️The Red Cross, which from above gives it to the hotels.
⚠️And 5k here and there to businesses who were "friends" with the non-profit itself.
These numbers definitely don't add up?
