9. The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10. Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11. Who was like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12. Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13. Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
Exodus 15:9-13
This is a few lines from the song the people sang to God for His deliverance from Pharaoh.
The Egyptians have just buried their firstborn and thrust the Israelites out of their sight. Because they were afraid of the Lord. Now they wonder who will do the work. Pharaoh comes with his army to bring the people back to slavery. God's people the night before were not singing they were crying, why bring us to this desert to die. The Egyptians have cast off their fear of death and have pursued God's people.
Look at verse 9 and see Satan, say, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will draw my sword, against God's people. But in a few hours Pharaoh and his entire army are at the bottom of the sea. And the people of God are singing a song of deliverance not victory for they did not lift a finger in their defense. This is the strength and power of our God. Whoever heard of a sea dividing and people crossing over the Egyptians made a huge mistake seeing God's people crossing they thought they could to, but they were not protected by God. So the same route that was an escape for God's people, became a trap to their enemies.
There is a big difference in everything, when God is on your side. Amen.
