17. Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.18. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. 19. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.20. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from the destructions.21. Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men !Psalm 107:17-21 The psalmist speaks of those who live a life full of sin. For not for a single transgression, are they afflicted. And because of this lifestyle, they find themselves afflicted. Now, some are afflicted by a Fatherly chastisement to bring them back to the way. But others very often are hardened by it and rebell. Sin will change you for the worst. And the most pleasant fare, the Gospel message will seem loathsome. And they draw near to death, the path all shall walk. And by the grace of Christ, they cry out, humbled by the mighty hand of God, brought to a sense of the danger of sin. This is the mission of Christ the Savior, the Word of God in the form of flesh, come to deliver, heal, pardon, forgive, and He is able for He offered Himself as the payment for sin. And delivered them from their distresses and destructions, for they are many. Oh, that all would be restored by Christ, and praise Him for His wonderful work that no one else could do. He is able to heal soul and body, but Christ died, to save your soul from destruction. Amen.
