44. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.45. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:46. Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.47. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:48. Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.Matthew 13:44-48 Jesus is explaining the kingdom of heaven and its value. The treasure in the field is the Gospel message, which reveals the richness of God in Christ, which is a lasting treasure. It can not be bought or bargained for, it can only be received, and the searching is reading and study, and spending time with Christ. Such as experience, this are said to hide the treasure in their heart where it can not be lost. The merchant man is a sinner, seeking salvation, and finding Christ, parts with all his destructive ways, and holds on to Christ because no one can save us but Christ. The net is the Gospel message cast into the world, which is the sea. And for some they received the pardon and forgiveness of their past and their lives change for the better but the lost caught up in the same message refuse it's benefits, and at the end, where no one can escape, the redeemed are gathered into heaven the vessel, and the lost to eternal destruction. There is no middle ground. You are in or you are out because of what you thought was valuable. Amen
