24. The disciple is not about his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26. Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what you hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:24-28
Jesus intends to strengthen the disciples against reproach and persecution. Teaching them that what they say and do to Him, they are going to receive the same.
And they shall receive no more than what Christ endured.
And Christ being called Beelzebub, the lord of flies, they could find no more reproach full name, for the Son of God, that his followers would be called such hard names and should not be disturbed at it.
The most endearing advice Christ gives. Fear them not. All shall be made know, all shall be revealed. Christ knows what they have planned for His followers.
And what He has told them in private, shout from the roof tops.
And fear nothing that men may do even taking your life, for as they murdered Christ, they will seek to destroy His followers. But no one can destroy the reward of the Master for His own. For it is eternal without end.
And God who created the soul, men have no power over, but Christ will reward the just as their Savior and destroy the wicked as their Judge. Amen.
