7. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.9. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?10. Or if he ask a fish, would he give him a serpent? 11. If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall you're having your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?Matthew 7:7-11 Prayer is how we petition God, for what we are in need of, temporal or spiritual. When we ask in the will of God, in the name of Jesus, under the guidance of the Spirit in faith, we shall receive. Seeking people find what they are looking for. Doors open to people who knock. Seeking people are not haphazard they are diligent and put their whole heart in it. Faith is the key that opens the door. Our Lord Jesus is saying we need to be constant in prayer. Everyone who asks of God shall receive. Those who are searching shall find Christ and His grace and mercy. Jesus goes on about the affection of a father, who, if asked for bread, would he give him something inedible. If asked for a fish, would he give him something poisonous. So if we like all men, be evil. Yet know how to treat our children, God who is perfect and all-knowing and all powerful, knows how to take care of His children, knowing their wants and what is proper for them. Being Lord of heaven and earth. Amen.
