8. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beast of the earth.9. And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:10. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11. And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.Revelation 6:8-11 John is witness to Christ opening the fouth seal and the fourth beast says come and see. He sees a pale horse and on him sits death and hell or the grave follows. And power is given over one quarter of the earth to destruction by sword, famine, and disease, this judgment is on the Roman Empire. The fifth seal is opened and John sees those slain for Christ and His Gospel, these souls are seen under the alter and are given white robes showing their purity, for they were not slain for crimes but for preaching Christ. They are told to rest a while till their fellowservants doing the same work are slain as they. And vengeance will be executed on God's enemies in His time. The number of martyrs is fixed and determined by God and when it is complete God shall pour out His wrath on all who persecuted His saints. Amen.
