1. After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.2. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.3. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.4. And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.5. And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.Revelation 4:1-5 This is the second vision of John, the first being the letters to the seven churches. John being caught up in the spirit as Paul was, sees in his vision a door opening and a voice loud and clear saying come up. And Jonn immediately is brought up into the throne room of God, and sees God sitting on His thrown, and is witness to His appearance, as the Almighty Father. The twenty four elders clothed in white, the spotless robe of Christ's righteousness, the righteousness of saints in common, as every true member of Christ's body. John witnesses the awesomeness and power proceeding from the majesty of God on His throne and the voices of His love, grace, mercy, peace, pardon, righteousness, and eternal life. The seven lamps burning before the throne, expressive of the Spirit, and His gifts, signified by the number seven denotes, the fullness and perfection of them. Now if you experienced what John saw, how would you respond if someone said there was no God or heaven. As for me I would say, it is something God provided through Jesus Christ His Son, and you sure do not want to miss out on it. Amen.
