HITLER eliminated all signs of Christianity from public and private life. Those that don't learn history, are doomed to repeat it. Hitler replaced the cross of Christ with a broken cross or Swastika which adorned the German churches. Christmas was turned into Yuletide festival with carols and Nativity plays being BANNED in 1938. Easter was observed as the celebration of spring instead of the risen Christ. Crosses could not be displayed in schools or on public property. Private schools were abolished and only public schools remained with textbooks promoting Nazi ideology. Teachers were forced to take a loyalty oath to Hitler or be dismissed.
