2. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.3. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.4. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the flood of ungodly men made me afraid. 5. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.6. In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried into my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.Psalm 18:2-6 The psalmist so acquainted with the Lord, so near to his God. The God that is the same and changes not. The psalmist in his distress looked not to men but to God, to his Foundation, his Protection, his Strength, his place of refuge and saftey in who he could trust for his deliverance and salvation. He praised the Lord because He saved him from his enemies in the flesh and spiritual. These verses talk of ungodly men, hell, and death, which became a snare or trap, he, was unable to escape. But he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord heard him and saved him. The Lord shall do the same to all who call on Him in truth, for this is the reason He came and died in our place that we might live with Him. Amen.
