1. The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
2. And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
3. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
4. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
5. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones, Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
Ezekiel 37:1-5
The dry bones in this prophecy have several meanings the Jews in captivity before their conversion, Christians in the spiritual reign of Christ, the dead at their resurrection, both the just and the wicked.
The term very dry means they have been in this valley a long time.
And the Lord asks can these bones live, the prophet does not say no it's impossible, for he knew very well all is possible with God, but his answer is filled with wisdom, when he says, Lord you know.
The power contained in God's word, to all who are yet to be converted, Ye shall live, no one could save them from destruction, only the Living God, to Jews and Gentiles alike, salvation for those headed to destruction, God is the source of eternal live. Amen.
