13. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;14. Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as the Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.15. Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.16. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.17. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice from to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.2 Peter 1:13-17 Peter's instructions to the saints, those sanctified, set apart to do the work of Christ, in sharing the Gospel message as we do this day. Putting all in remembrance of their duty, speaking in truth of the Gospel, that it has not changed since Christ spoke it, but yet it is still new today, I myself can attest to the fact that I have read the Bible over forty times, it has never been without a new message, even though I am reading the same 750,000 words. Peter coming to the end of his journey here, is concerned about all those he leaves behind. That they remember that he was an eyewitness to Christ, His teaching, His suffering, death, and resurrection. That the Gospel is true, and not a entertaining story as there are of false gods. Christ is God in the form of a man, and was approved by the Father, who said so all could hear, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Amen.
