6. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7. Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5:6-10
Be humble before God, submit to His will, stand in awe of His awesomeness, mourn over sin, and consider how unworthy we are.
Place everything in the hands of our perfect God. Our body, life itself, care of the soul, our spiritual and eternal welfare.
Because He cares for us.
Christ has defeated the devil who could not be tamed. A very real adversary who seeks our destruction. The word devour is defined as swallowed whole without chewing.
Placing all faith in Christ who, as a man knows the same afflictions and some that we shall never know like bearing the sins of all men. But we have members in God's family resisting Satan as we do.
God has placed the fullness of grace in His Son that through Him, we are preserved, redeemed, pardon, forgiven, our punishment removed forever, and in a short while the faithful because of Christ's Righteousness, will be perfected, established in His Righteousness, strengthen in body and mind, and settled into His kingdom prepared before the universe was created. Amen, come quickly, Lord Jesus.
