1. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
2. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue was singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
3. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
4. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.
5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Psalm 126:1-6
The psalmist speaks in a prophetic way of Christ. Bringing those held captives by Satan, sin, and death.
The redeemed are Zion, saved by Christ, and no other.
Being recovered from destruction, sins forgiven, life eternal in place of death. It is like a dream to us, but it is very real paid in full by Christ.
We who were held captives by Satan can now rejoice in Christ, He hath done for Jew and Gentiles alike.
Breaking our bonds to sin, and giving Living Water, to our parched souls.
They that plant the Word of God, in lost souls, by prayer planted in the Lord's Righteousness, shall reap in joy. We may not all see the harvest, but it is sure. Christ is the way maker and the promise keeper.
A faithful preacher of the Word, Christ's Gospel, the precious seed, only will produce if planted in the good ground, may cause tears for a lack of it. But God is not mocked what a man sows is what he shall reap, and the souls saved are the sheaves of God's harvest. Praise Jesus the Shepherd of our souls. Amen.
