6. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.7. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8. And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 1 Peter 2:6-9 Peter reminds believers, both Jew and Gentiles, the value of Christ. The Stone that was refused that became the foundation of the Church. Holding all the pieces together in His Righteousness, and none will regret submitting to Him. To the believers there is none like Him, for salvation can come from no other. Being pure, holy, honest, He is an offense to the disobedient, and their fate is sure. But look at what a forgiven sinner is called, a chosen generation by Christ, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, where ever you came from, you are part of Christ's family. And we can not help but praise Him, for He has taken us from the darkness of sin and placed us in His Light, He is the Light of our world. Seeing we have left behind the old nature and put on the new man, being forgiven and pardoned, we have obtained mercy from Christ our Lord. Amen.
