1. I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
3. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4. Then called I upon the name of the LORD; O LORD, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. 5. Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
Psalm 116:1-5
The psalmist speaks of Christ as Saviour. Who he loved with his whole heart, yet he was not perfect, for all have sinned and fallen short.
He was not afraid to ask the Lord to supply what he was in need of, spiritual or physical.
The sorrows of death and hell are unknown to the young, but are a great weight to those of age, seeing that it is very close.
The Saviour has a hearing ear to the repentant sinner, and through His death is able to deliver a soul heading to destruction.
Because He became a man and lived without sin, then laid His life down as the price for sin, freeing the condemned.
Because Christ loves us with an everlasting love and His mercy is without measure. Amen.
