7. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.8. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.9. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.10. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.11. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.James 5:7-11 James is a book of wisdom, here he advises believers to be patient in suffering unto the coming of the Lord. As the farmer waits from the sowing of seed till the harvest, so should we wait for Christ's return. As we wait, let us not accuse, condemn, or seek harm on anyone, for Christ the Judge is close at hand. If we forgive not, we shall not be forgiven. As the prophets were persecuted bringing God's word, we are not exempt, we have Christ as an example who suffered for all without murmuring. And the Lord who is gracious and full of mercy, after Job's suffering ended the Lord restored to him more than what was lost. So shall it be to us, when we appear before the Righteous Judge. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus. Amen.
