21. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.22. It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.24. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.25. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. 26. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.Lamentations 3:21-26 The prophet Jeremiah calls to mind the mercy of God. After witnessing the afflictions of God's people because of their idolatry and rebellion. It is because of the Lord's mercy that all the people were not destroyed. And it is of the Lord's mercy we were not consumed in our sins as Sodom and Gomorrah. The Lord looks not for our destruction, but for our salvation for this reason, He came and died in our place. The Lord's mercy and compassion is new every morning, for He knows what we will face. This is our hope that Christ is for us, He is here for us we need look no where else. Seek the Lord with all your heart, and wait for Him, He will not disappoint any. With this hope we can rest quietly in peace for the salvation of the Lord is sure. Amen.
