1. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.3. When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.4. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.5. I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. This song signifies instruction with a good understanding. The psalmist was favored with the discovery of pardoning grace for forgiveness of sin. The guilt of sin is heavy, the psalmist said it dried up all his tears. Here, he speaks of the guilt and punishment of sin being taken off and transferred to Christ. It has been forgiven and covered in the Savior's blood. Christ does not charge us with our iniquities, that He has forgiven. And we need not engage ourselves in sly cunning ideas, for Christ has supplied all we need, and He is Truth. To acknowledge sin is a work of the Holy Ghost to even have a desire to be saved is His gift. Confession is the path to forgiveness, and our love for Christ will keep us on His path of righteousness. We are very great at sinning, but Christ is even greater at saving. And as we become obedient we put on the image of Christ through the working of the Holy Ghost, daily. Amen.
