Here is a thing:
Earth has a significant and violent history. 200,000 years of independent development can develop some strange competition. If the primary medium is 'underwater', the 'tech' development has to be very different the a land based environment. I'm thinking the biology arts would be formed faster than others.
Giants existed. There is a lot of bad information about how and where they interacted with the surface humanity, and very little is complementary. However, in all the stories of the 12' + size, before 12,000 years ago, I haven't seen any female references about them. I haven't looked all that deeply into the mess (and the Smithsonian history isn't any help, etc.), but I have no information about skeletal evidence about said female giant involvement.
Could it be that (like horses, Jackasses and mules,);
There were no female giants?
Could it be that the women they 'mated' with, only produced male offspring? ( like the movie, “Alien”), 'Atlantis' did nothing. There are indications that the “overnight guests” that never left, residing in Atlantis, were responsible for that Giant 'infestation' (and other garbage). It seems strange that the 'flood' became so focused on that area, buttressed up through the mountains, in particular.
There are tales of co-operation of inter-species hybrids working well in communities and used in a few military, but the support and methods (see previous) for this would be significant on small town requirements (also possibly connected to the origin of the 'virgin sacrifice' activity). See wimkin pic / remaining evidence, also.
The rock, and following flood, over North Africa 13,000 years ago, was the result of that coven's rejection, never forgotten?. “In the next war we throw rocks at each other”.
