October 24th marks the 122nd anniversary of the very first daredevil to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel! She was a 63 year old retired school teacher named Annie Edson Taylor! -The widow decided to seek her fortune by timing her stunt during the 1901 Pan American Exposition in nearby Buffalo, NY. With crowds from all over the country visiting for the Expo, Annie believed that she would have the perfect audience for this once-in-a-lifetime event.-To test the waters, Annie Taylor first sent her pet cat, Iagara, over the Falls in a barrel. Luckily, the cat survived, (albeit with 8 lives). This led Annie to attempt the stunt herself.-The very next day, on her 63rd birthday, Annie climbed into the barrel with her cat, and was cut loose into the mighty rapids of Niagara.-So, Would she survive the plunge?
