3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.4. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him, stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.Isaiah 53:3-6 The prophet Isaiah, 711 years before Christ's birth, describes Him with such accuracy. Hated for no reason, rejected by mankind, He came with a pure love to save us, and we all have turned our back on Him. In His love for us, He took our punishment, He took our sins and died in our place. Where can you find a love like this? His body was broken for us, His blood was shed for the remission of sin, Christ removed the punishment from us, as if we never sinned. This was the only way to bring sinful men back to God. The Almighty God laid the sins of men on His only Son. This makes Christ the only acceptable sacrifice for sin, He is the door we must pass through to enter heaven. They is no other way. None of the ways of man, shall be accepted, only the precious blood of Christ the Lord, pays our debt for sin. Amen.
