3. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.4. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:5. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.6. The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.Isaiah 40:3-6 The prophet speaking 750 years before the birth of Christ, announcing the coming of John the Baptist. And John, being a prophet announced the coming of Christ the Messiah. Telling all to prepare for His arrival, by repenting from sin. Those oppressed by sin would be freed, those that refused Christ would be brought down. The truth all flesh is as grass, it grows quickly and then passes. But God's word is for ever. He is the Shepherd of His people, and none can take them out of His hand. Salvation was to the Jew first, and none will prosper that attack Israel, He gives power to the faint, and He increases strength to those who have no might. Amen.
