35. I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39. But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
Psalm 37:35-39
The psalmist speaks of seeing a wicked man, with great authority, growing like a tree in good soil, having riches and honor.
Yet he died, in an instant, and was reduced to nothing. And could not be found on earth.
The perfect man is not without fault, but is complete in Christ. The upright, being converted, is covered in Christ's righteousness. And that person shall at the end, have peace.
But the transgressors shall be destroyed, those that refuse Christ and His saving grace.
But the salvation of the redeemed is eternal, paid in full, at the Cross of Christ. Amen.
