17. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.18. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;19. Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody melody in your heart to the Lord;20. Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;21. Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.Ephesians 5:17-21 Paul warns us to seek the will of the Lord, and you must search His word to know Him, and fellowship with the Holy Spirit for understanding of God's word. To be drunk or intoxicated on anything numbs the mind to God's way and never leads to good. But being filled with God's Spirit is a gift needed to live and walk in God's ways. Rejoicing in God's word is a blessing, it fills the heart with thanksgiving for all we receive in this life, and what is waiting for us in the next. Therefore we should all submit ourselves to each other in the love of God, and be a living letter of Christ's salvation. Amen.
