These anti-crepuscular rays were spotted by Son Su Yeong, gazing east over the Namhang Bridge from SongDo, Busan, Republic of Korea. The Sun was setting behind her in the west. Mountain peaks within the city were likely casting the long shadows across the sky, with the bands of light and shade rendered visible due to a haze in the low atmosphere. The beams would in fact have been parallel, only appearing to converge due to perspective. Motorists on the bridge would have seen the same effect make the parallel highway lanes seem to taper in the distance.
