17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.18. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation.20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.2 Corinthians 5:17-21 Paul explains, that if you are a follower of Christ, you are new in the inner man, your desires, goals, deeds, are submitted to Christ, you are freed from your sinful nature, and seek to be in the image of Christ. This new life comes to serve Christ, through the Spirit, in faith, and holiness. Christ paying the price for sin in His blood, has restored our fellowship with the Almighty, who now looks with favor on those, who committed themselves to His Son. All who share the gospel, are ambassadors of Christ, an ambassador is an official envoy, sent as authorized representative, of a ruler. And as such, ask in the place of Christ, be reconciled to God, for the way has been cleared by Christ. For all our sin, everything was laid on Him at the Cross, and we are now covered in His Righteousness. Amen.
