The new Hot Dog On A Stick isn’t nearly as cool as the old Hot Dog Stick, which had stuck in this spot next to the Santa Monica Pier for 76 years before they demolished it last year, but thankfully they didn’t turn it into a Starbucks or something - and at least they did try to pretty much replicate its look. (I’m sort of irritated that they added the “On A” because I liked that it always just weirdly read “Hot Dog Stick.”) Here it is now and back in 1998 when the late great Huell Howser visited it. This was the very first Hot Dog On A Stick location, and for some reason it was originally called “Party Puffs.” I’ll put some more photos in the comments below along with the Huell Howser episode about it.
