1. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.2. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.3. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 4. Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.5. Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou has done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.Psalm 40:1-5ππ» The psalmist, pens this prophetic song, it speaks of Christ, waiting patiently in the garden, where He submitted Himself entirely to the will of the Father and the cross. He just prior to His death, gives thanks, for bringing Him out of the pit of death, and setting Him on a firm foundation, at His resurrection. His death, suffering, humiliation, were left behind, after defeating Satan. And the gates of Heaven opened to Him, as He took His place at the right hand of the Father. Now all who trust and submit to Him shall be blessed. For they will walk in His steps, and be covered with all His truth. I can relate to this verse, many times I have received good from the Lord, and seen His work with mine own eyes, I have experienced His grace and mercy, I have been treated better than I deserve. I can not number the times Christ has intervened on my behalf these 70 years. But I am glad He did, for I cannot deny He is real, He is alive, He cares for me, because He saved me. Amen.
