1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
2. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.
Psalm 14:1-4
The psalmist speaks, as one of us, we all fell short following the path to destruction.
And as God looked down, and saw nothing but wickedness, before He sent the flood, He has witnessed our transgression.
We have all turned aside, and followed our own way.
The workers of iniquity, can destroy, slander, distress, the people of God, those set apart by Him, for His work, and go and eat, as if they had done no wrong.
There seems no hope for anyone.
But the last verse, #7, Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the Lord bringeth back the captivity of his people, this is prophetic, in that Christ, came to us as a man, experienced every single thing we have, and sinned not.
Then gave His life for our Salvation, there is no place to go but to Christ.
We owe so much, we can never begin to pay. Take this day the free gift, our time here is short. Amen.
