///@paulmsmithphotography: These red sprites over Colorado last night were unusual to say the least . Instead of typical shapes like columns, angels , or a jellyfish, they formed like a group of ghostly figures high up in the dark sky. Almost like a scene from a cave painting. There was some physical attribute of the parent lightning stroke that made them fire in a mostly cloudward manner from about 70km up, forming these long curvy bodies with tiny heads. So fascinating when you consider they are like a big science experiment in the sky, with no two results being the same!
