#USA tightens the siege on #Syria; Potential social, military, and economic repercussions: Syria's oil resources have been under American occupation for almost 10 years (Yellow area on the map), this is the physical part of the American siege. Multiple signs indicate that Americans are escalating against #Syria : Diplomatic/Financial escalation : After the earthquake, Gulf states followed by other Arab governments took the humanitarian catastrophe as an opportunity to restore diplomatic and economic relations with Syria, and readmitted Syria to the Arab league. This coincided with the KSA-Iran restoration of relations. However, through threats and rough diplomacy, Americans succeeded at defusing all Arab efforts. Relations are restored, but all the diplomatic and economical activity that was ongoing suddenly halted. The Syrian pound dropped over 33% of it's value reaching 14,100 SYP per USD this month. Military escalation : -USA bolsters troops in Syria -ISIS attacked a Syrian army bus killing 26 Syrian soldiers and wounding 10 on a desert road near the eastern town of Mayadeen, in Deir Az Zor province that borders Iraq. ISIS was called ''US-backed forces" by president Assad. -Renewed Israeli airstrikes on Syria Many analysts are estimating that the USA might attempt to occupy the Al Qaem border crossing, which would physically cut off Syria from #Iraq. The Iraqi PMU are sending reinforcements to the Syrian borders, the Syrian Army sending reinforcements eastern Syria, and the USA is giving more autonomy to Arab tribes in these areas, indicate that something is brewing. On the other side, Syria and allies renewed strikes on USA bases. Repercussions : There has been a sharp increase in migrants crossing Lebanese borders, it's estimated that a new wave of migration has started, and if the situation keeps escalating, up to 1 million new migrants will enter #Lebanon . This will further deteriorate the Lebanese economy and security. The American siege on Syria is also a siege on Lebanon.
