30. What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.31. But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.32. Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at the stumblingstone; 33. As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offense: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.Romans 9:30-33 We by the mercy of God, through Christ, have received the promise of eternal life, because by faith we believe Christ, died for our sins. This opportunity was given because the religious leaders rejected Christ as Savior, Redeemer, the Mediator, between God, and men. So few of God's people were saved. Now we of the Gentiles, not having the law, sought Christ, by faith. The Jews, by the working of the law. The law all have failed to obey, and it could not pardon, nor show mercy. Sin brings death, and only Christ's blood can remove the stain and penalty. Christ is our Rock, our foundation of Righteousness, He has covered His followers with His Righteousness, and His promise of pardon is sure. Amen.
