7. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.8. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.9. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.10. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.11. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.Romans 7:7-11 Paul's instruction, if the law proves we are sinners, is the law at fault. No. The law can only prove one guilty or innocent. It cannot forgive, or show mercy. When the law states, what we cannot do, and we do it, we are guilty, and the punishment is death. And when we lived that way, before being converted, we cared not of the outcome of our actions. But the Holy Spirit, making us aware, that we have sinned and are under judgment, brings us to Christ, and being in Christ, we are forgiven, justified, pardoned, you can find this no where else. For this reason Christ came. Amen.
