4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.
Romans 6:4-8πŸ™πŸ»
Paul being taught the Gospel by revelation from Christ, explains the true conversion of a lost soul.
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. As in burial, the body is covered, so in baptism, we are covered in water. And as we rise out of the water, it is as Christ rose from His tomb. Never to experience death again.
The converted soul, is a new creature, and now has a battle daily against sin, so as not to conform to it, but be at war with it. Now Christ has won the war, but we are still engaged, in warfare.
We are dead in Christ and freed from sins punishment, which is eternal death.
The reward of the faithful is as Christ died for our sins, we are declared not guilty, and at our death, we shall inherit eternal life. Amen.
