At first glance, this is a night-time swarm of aerial jellyfish intent on invading suburbia. On second, it is a group of Altocumulus cloudlets producing virga, trails of precipitation that evaporate before reaching the ground. Either way, it was spotted by Jennifer Harris over Ames, Iowa, US.
