The Drinking Horse Mountain Trail takes hikers on a short walk to the 1,675 metre (5,500 foot) summit of Drinking Horse Mountain near Bozeman, Montana. While hiking the trail, Martha Moore (Cloud Appreciation Society Member 60,347) saw a Cumulonimbus capillatus storm cloud rising majestically on the horizon as if to add brilliant white foliage to the blackened branches of a dead tree. A towering Cumulonimbus cloud like this means only one thing: showers to come. ‘The sky was so blue it was hard to imagine that it would rain,’ Martha told us. ‘But the clouds built into quite a storm later in the day.’ Presumably, any horses on the mountain trail would have had plenty to drink that day
