1. Lord, thou hast been favorable unto thy land: thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.2. Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.3. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou has turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.4. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.5. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations?6. Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?Psalm 85:1-6🙏🏻 The psalmist speaks of Israel, being freed from bondage to Egypt and Babylon, a picture of the children of God, being freed from the bondage of sin. Sin has been forgiven in Christ, covered in His blood, and no sin is remembered to cause judgment. The Almighty has removed His anger at sin, and laid it on His Son Jesus. Christ has given His life, for our salvation, there is no other acceptable payment for sin. To revive someone, is to bring them back from death. And we shall be brought back from death, unto eternal life, because Christ, covered us in His Righteousness. Amen.
