36. And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the LORD, and see how they do.37. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.38. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.39. And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from theother: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;40. And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God. Acts 15:36-40 You do not enter a hospital to find healthy people. And when entering a church do not look for perfect people. Paul and Barnabas are seasoned preachers, well versed in the Gospel, filled with the Spirit. Yet they have a disagreement about John Mark, because he left them during their mission, and returned home. Now the contention becomes hot, and they part their separate ways. Later down the road, Paul asks that they send Mark, because of his value to the ministry. We all fail in being perfect, but it is not a reason to quit. Paul saw the value in John Mark, and he is the author of the Gospel of Mark. We all need to stay humble. Amen.
