13. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;14. Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.15. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.16. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Titus 1:13-14 ?? Paul has sent Titus to set things in order, in the church at Crete. Many there, like today, have strayed away from the truth, being told what to think, instead of studying God's word, and staying fast to it. We are a rebellious lot, and need constant instruction, in righteousness, and those who love the Lord, will cherish a rebuke that returns them to the Way. Those are pure, whose sin is covered by the blood of Christ, and there is no other. Those unbelieving, have settled their fate, refusing Christ as Savior, they shall have Him as Judge. With their mouth they say they know God, but their actions prove, they deny His very existence. Being obnoxious, repulsive, obscene, evil, and disobedient to good work, they become reprobate, this word means, not standing the test, not approved, used of metal coins, tested and found worthless. But the people of God, bought by the blood of Jesus, have a value, so precious to God, that they shall be covered by His love for all of eternity. Amen.
