1. Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O LORD.2. Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.3. If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?4. But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5. I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. Psalm 130:1-5 Here the psalmist, cries to the Lord, out of the depths of sin. He asks to be heard, this prayer of supplication, is a petition to God, from the heart, acknowledging that his dependence is on God. Supplication, is a humble plea to God, to suppy, what is needed. It is clear he is seeking forgiveness. And in truth if God should remember every sin, who could stand in His presence. The psalmist is in a personal relationship with the Lord, and knows that he will find forgiveness with Him, and this is a cause to reverence, praise, and thank Him. The psalmist waits on the Lord, even his soul, the Lord is real, and His word is powerful, and full of hope. Amen.
